  • According to a study by the Task Force of the National Advisory Council on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism, 50-75% of the drunk drivers in the United States that have suspended licenses will continue to drive anyway.
  • Blood Alcohol Level of .08%-.09%: You believe you're functioning better than you actually are. At this level, you may start to slur your speech. Your sense of balance is probably off, and your motor skills are starting to become impaired. Your ability to see and hear clearly is diminished. Your judgment is being affected, so it's difficult for you to decide whether or not to continue drinking. Your ability to evaluate sexual situations is impaired. Students may jokingly refer to this state of mind as beer goggles, but this Blood Alcohol Level can have serious repercussions.
  • As many women under age 30 are drinking at levels that could be harmful to their unborn children, and because an estimated 45 percent of all pregnancies in the U.S. are unplanned, the babies of those women who do abuse alcohol may already suffer damage before mother discovers they are pregnant.
